Carmela has worked as a ballet teacher for many years in the UK, improving and opening her teaching to new ideas; creating an artistic, healthy and safe environment.
Before coming to the UK in 2002 from her native Italy, Carmela was concentrating on choreography and performance in shows. Carmela came to the UK to study at the Royal Academy of Dance to become a ballet teacher and had to stop her usual 6 days a week training to concentrate on theory, which led to a back injury. This is when she discovered the Pilates method. Having realised the benefit for herself, Carmela decided to use that knowledge and experience to help people to improve their overall body posture, strength and flexibility and learn to develop focus and conscious control of each body movement, thereby restoring flexibility or recovery from injury.
Having completed a Pilates Foundation Comprehensive Teacher Training Course and a Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology, Carmela always combines her dance training with the study of Pilates to offer all the benefits to her client. Regardless of age and life background, through a detailed approach, Carmela ensures each tuition is designed for the individual client’s abilities and needs. Carmela draws upon her movement background to add an imaginative and balanced approach, creating safe, effective and enjoyable lessons. Her warm personality shines through to establish a connection with each client and she has extensive knowledge and experience in injury recovery and pre and post-natal.

Marc Goldberg
Marc’s interest in Clinical Pilates came from his own injuries over a professional Ballet career that spanned over two decades. He always cross trained with Pilates to condition his body to handle the extreme physical workload involved in professional ballet. Combining his own Pilates knowledge with his medical team’s rehab approaches, Marc was able to sustain a very long and gruelling stage career and gain an incredible amount of clinical knowledge as a result.
From 2007, while still dancing professionally, Marc began working in Pilates based rehabilitation. He found it incredibly stimulating and rewarding to help people of varying fitness levels and presenting pathologies. Towards the end of his dance career Marc moved into choreography to great critical acclaim. He found that his Pilates knowledge translated to the rehearsal floor seamlessly, helping these athletes understand their bodies better, as well as identifying potential injuries or issues from an alignment, muscular skeletal or negative movement pattern perspective. Marc is passionate about adapting and evolving that information for varied types of patient referrals and clients.

Flavia Di Tommasi
I started practicing Pilates in 2014 after a friend of mine could not stop praising it – to the point that I wanted to see by myself what the hype was all about. I was a gymnast as a kid, and I have been a movement curious all my life. Gyms have seen me coming and going, always looking for some sort of meaningful, disciplined movement that would resemble the approach we were used to have in gymnastics. This is what really hooked me with Pilates: its focus on the quality of the movement, which improves with practice and widens the opportunities available to each and every one of us. I believe in movement as an experience, rather than a sequence of exercises, and this is what I would like to offer you.
After my mat work and equipment qualifications, I wanted to be able to support specific populations’ needs, so I qualified for Pre and Post Natal Pilates, I attended a course for Hypermobile and EDHS syndrome and as a Stroke rehab specialist.
Over the years, I discovered Trigger Point Pilates™, which blends Pilates with the principles of Myofascial release, and I focused on the Pelvic Floor and Orthopaedic restorative work.
I am a Biomechanic Coach and I can count a Boxercise instructor qualifications amongst a few other non Pilates disciplines that I decided to add to my list, along with Aqua Fitness ( I have to admit, that was more for the opportunity of playing random 80s music loud) and Barre Fitness.

He is a keen runner and as a consequence has a particular interest in running injuries and running based rehabilitation. His other strong interest is in shoulder pain and shoulder rehabilitation.
He uses a wide variety of treatment skills ranging from Acupuncture to joint manipulation plus massage and exercise therapy to alleviate and resolve symptoms such as pain and stiffness .
Mike believes strongly that it is essential not just to treat and resolve the patient’s symptoms-e.g pain, stiffness, swelling but also to analyse and correct their faulty posture and movement patterns. His experience in treating spinal conditions allied with his knowledge of the current evidence based research on the most effective exercises for spinal pain will give patients the best possible opportunity to gain strong healthy pain free spines.
For anyone with running injuries Mike can undertake a detailed biomechanical analysis of your running technique which often is one the causative factors leading to injury. With expert analysis Mike can help fine tune and improve your running pattern to make you a more efficient runner and ultimately less vulnerable to re-injury.
For those looking to lose weight who are unsure of how or where to start Mike can also offer advice based on the current scientific research on nutrition and he can dispel lots of common myths associated with weight loss and provide the most effective strategies for long term gradual weight loss and improved general health and conditioning.

Nikki Hey
Nikki Hey is a STOTT trained Pilates instructor from Johannesburg. She’s been teaching Pilates for many years. When she lived in South Africa, her main focus was teaching private sessions from her home studio. Since moving to the UK in early 2016, she’s started teaching a large number of group classes including 2 for Jessica Pilates in Frimley on a Monday morning.
Nikki comes from a very active and sporting family background. Her parents were sports people and her eldest sister a professional ballet dancer. Nikki did everything from gymnastics to cricket but had a true passion for running/sprinting. Unfortunately, this resulted in a recurring knee injury, which is what led her to Pilates. Nikki was amazed at how beneficial she found Pilates to be, not only for her knee but also her entire body!
Nikki has a true passion for helping people out of pain. She’s a lively and vibrant character who makes her classes both challenging and fun. With a lot of experience in 1:1 work, she has a keen eye for detail and is very hands on, ensuring that all the clients in her class are performing the exercises correctly. Nikki’s witty humour certainly adds to her abdominal workouts!
